Innovation
TufTile® provides innovative product solutions for our customers. Our team of industry experts and engineers continually pursue new ways to advance product performance and improve installation for contactors.
In 2018, TufTile® introduced the first replaceable cast iron tile to the market. The unique flat-back design of the product minimizes trapped air between the tile and the concrete.
TufTile® kicked off 2019 with the launch of the only ADA-compliant galvanized steel detectable warning tile. With the durability of cast iron and half the weight, galvanized steel provides long-term durability for heavy pedestrian traffic with fast installation and shipping efficiencies.
Later that same year, TufTile executed the extensive install of a state-of-the-art electrostatic powder coating system. The advanced technique of this highly automated system results in a corrosion resistant finish with long-term durability that resists cracking, fading, and peeling.

Quality
TufTile® is dedicated to producing the highest quality product under our roof. We adhere to federal compliance standards under the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). Throughout the product manufacturing process, our quality team conducts a range of QC checks including tile flatness, weights, and dome spacing. On site mold maintenance and repair shop minimizes downtime and ensures the rigorous specifications we set for our products are being met. Our powder coating system is subject to continuous quality checks during the coating process, including coating thickness, sheen, and color matching. Post-production quality tests confirm bonding and adhesion. TufTile® powder coating delivers a superior finish that withstands over 5k PSI and exceeds ASTM standards for UV stability

Powder Coating
What motivates us at TufTile®? It’s our commitment to produce high-quality products and exceed customer expectations. Our electrostatic powder coating system allows for precision quality control, reduced lead times, and greater productivity. The fully automated pretreatment process with zirconium rinse ensures superior bonding, while the powder coating system delivers a uniform color build with a corrosion-resistant finish that will not chip, peel, or fade. A high transfer efficiency rate means low paint material waste and low air emissions, with no solvents or VOC. At TufTile®, every step we take is done to empower our customers to succeed in their business objectives by providing industry-leading innovation and high-quality products and services in ADA detectable warning tiles.
Environmental Stewardship
Our Environmental Mission
In everything we do, TufTile® is committed to environmental responsibility as an integral part of our operations. Across processes and facilities, it is our policy to ensure environmental integrity of initiatives both large and small. We employ procedures specifically designed to minimize production waste and implement resource conservation.
Powder Coating
Our in-house highly automated powder coating equipment delivers a uniform color build without solvents or VOCs, and low paint waste that is reclaimed and reused.
Production Scrap
At TufTile’s manufacturing facility, we recycle and reuse over 99% of our production waste.
Packaging
All packaging used for TufTile® products is made form at least 80% post-industrial or post-consumer waste material. In-bound packaging waste is sent to recycling facilities.
Other Green Features
- Motion sensitive lighting installed throughout our facility saves electricity.
- Large fans in our warehouse move air, reducing heating and cooling costs.
- Production restarts are staggered at non-peak times to minimize energy surges.
- Storm water from non-permeable surfaces is redirected to a wet-land retention area.
- Process water is cleaned and recirculated.

TufTile’s manufacturing facility is located in Lake Zurich, IL, and the use of TufTile® products within 500 miles of this location may be able to claim LEED MR Credit 5.1: Regional Materials: Extracted, Processed & Manufactured Regionally.
